Brittany Cartwright revealed that she and her estranged husband Jax Taylor are not doing “fine,” and suggested he puts up a front for social media. She also addressed Katie Maloney reaching out, and revealed details behind her fight with Jax about having another baby.
After The Valley‘s first season wrapped, Brittany separated from Jax, with whom she often fought in the episodes. But Brittany still interacts with Jax on occasion, and they recently attended the White House correspondents’ dinner.
On her “Reality Hits” podcast, Brittany wanted to make “very clear” that she and Jax stayed in “separate hotel rooms” for the correspondents’ dinner, and they didn’t “fly by each other.”
“We’re not fine,” said Brittany of her status with Jax, though she shared that they’re “cordial” and “co-parenting.”
“He keeps saying in the press that he’s gonna try,” she added. “So we’ll see what that looks like … who knows [if] it’s too little, too late.”
She then suggested that Jax puts up a front for social media, posting any time he and Brittany are together.
“He confuses people, and I want to make sure nobody’s confused,” she explained. “I am very open and honest about everything that’s going on, and … I wouldn’t even walk the carpet together.”
She then confirmed that Katie reached out to her amid their friendship fallout.
“I responded back, and I haven’t heard anything back from that,” said Brittany. “But I was very grateful that she reached out to me. It meant a lot to me.”
She hinted that maybe they’ll begin to talk about “things,” and expressed that there’s “no bad blood.” Brittany suggested that their future is unknown.
Regarding her fight with Jax about having a second child, Brittany revealed that they were already talking about it “for an entire year” before.
“It does not just come out of nowhere,” she said. “We had planned that at the end of last summer, we were gonna start trying for another baby. Like that was planned no matter what, Cruz was getting a sibling … We both agreed it was happening, and I was so excited about that.”
“He just kind of flipped on me and now all of a sudden we’re opening this bar, which is an amazing opportunity for us, but that happened within like three months at the snap of a finger,” she said. “I actually was blindsided.”
