Watch: ‘Emotional’ Stephen Curry in tears and kicks chairs after rollercoaster game against Orlando Magic

The Golden State Warriors are in 10th place, with their playoff hopes unstable. Stephen Curry knows the importance of it, as he wants another shot at the NBA title. Curry’s high-level competitiveness was on full display, and he was in tears when teammate Draymond Green faced ejection. But the rollercoaster game against the Orlando Magic saw him hitting the game-winning shots and kicking chairs in jubilation.

Draymond Green‘s return from suspension has helped the Golden State Warriors steady the ship on their way to another playoff run. However, with their seeding still not secured, Green’s ejection complicated matters. A visibly frustrated Stephen Curry broke down in tears after realizing his teammate would not be there to help them. Head coach Steve Kerr tried to console Curry and motivate him to carry on.

The Warriors suffer from reduced playmaking and defense without Green on the floor. They were already without Jonathan Kuminga, and this was an additional blow that became too much for Curry to take. That is why he was inconsolable and showed his emotions on the court.

The loss of Green meant that Curry and the Golden State Warriors would have to depend on the younger players. The Orlando Magic are known to be a physical and bigger team. Curry’s emotional outburst shows that he understood their task just got a lot tougher. But that was not all of Curry’s emotions in the night.

Those emotions show what Stephen Curry is made of. Despite winning 4 NBA titles, he wanted to keep trying for more. Despite shooting only 33% from the field, the Golden State Warriors knew that Curry could change the game in clutch time. And he did just that, scoring a hook shot with a minute to go in regulation.

Then Curry took a step back three with 34 seconds to go that all but sealed the game. After that shot, the all-time leading 3-point scorer brought out his ‘night night’ celebration. As the game concluded, after high-fiving and chest-bumping his teammates, Curry went to the bench and kicked a chair in jubilation. He also wanted his teammates to show the same commitment.

It is rare for superstars to show their emotions in a game. But the 2-time MVP knew that the Houston Rockets were breathing down their necks. Any slip-up will cause the Golden State Warriors tp drop out of the play-in spots.
