Boston Bruins Eyeing Trade for Pat Maroon - NHL Trade Rumors

At the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, the Boston Bruins notably acquired Pat Maroon from the Minnesota Wild. Due to back surgery, Maroon was unable to make his Bruins debut until the club’s last matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday (April 13).

Maroon, 35, looked pretty solid in his debut for Boston. While he did not get on the scoresheet, he didn’t look too rusty for a player who had not played in over two months. He was hard on the forecheck, dependable defensively, and simply made smart plays. With that, he was impactful with his physicality, posting five hits on the night.

Having a heavy-hitting bottom-six forward was something that the Bruins have needed, and Maroon will certainly give them that. The St. Louis native has put together a solid career because of his tenacity, and he will, without a doubt, make Boston far more challenging to go up against because of it.

However, besides making an impact with his toughness, Maroon also gives the Bruins a three-time Stanley Cup champion who thrives in playoff hockey. That is an outstanding bonus, and the hope is that he will help the B’s during this year’s postseason because of it.

It will now be fun to see how much of an impact Maroon makes for the Bruins. There’s no question that he has the potential to give the B’s a nice jolt.
