Titans looking to potentially add another huge weapon next to Calvin Ridley

Titans may already know what they’re doing with no. 7 pick

Chargers Draft Report: LSU WR Malik Nabers - Bolts From The Blue

One of the more surprising moves this offseason came when the Tennessee Titans were able to land wide receiver Calvin Ridley in free agency.

Tennessee didn’t look like a frontrunner, necessarily, but the Titans pulled it off. Now, second-year quarterback Will Levis gets both Ridley and former All Pro DeAndre Hopkins as his top two targets within the offense.

But, the Titans may not be done adding talent to the wide receiver room.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tennessee is meeting with one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft, meaning he could be in play at no. 7 overall.

While some fans might think the Titans should go offensive tackle or even edge rusher, or potentially even a wildcard pick like Georgia tight end Brock Bowers at no. 7, LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers does make a ton of sense.

Most would agree that Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is the top wideout in this year’s class. But, there are others who believe it to be Nabers. And, it’s hard to fault them for that based on the numbers.

Last year, for LSU, Nabers put up a monstrous season, hauling in 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. Nabers was a walking, talking first down. Averaging a whopping 17.6 yards per reception in 2023, Nabers proved he was was one this year’s elite offensive playmakers and he did it against SEC competition.

Nabers is electrifying, shifty and well-rounded. He can run a variety of routes and is a menace after the catch. As soon as he secures the football, Nabers has his eyes on the end zone.

Putting Nabers into an offense with Ridley, Hopkins, and a running back room including Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears would give Levis a very formidable arsenal to work with. And let’s not forget about the speedy, versatile receiving threat of Chigoziem Okonkwo at tight end.

At this stage, Nabers is a real possibility for the Titans at no. 7. If he’s there, along with Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt, it’s going to be an extremely tough call for Tennessee. One other possibility for the Titans would include trading back just a bit, depending on how the quarterbacks fall.

But, if Nabers is there, it’s going to be difficult to pass on him.
