The Dallas Cowboys became the most valuable sports team in 2016 and haven’t looked back since. Sportico again rated Cowboys as the most valuable franchise in all of sports, valued at $9.2 billion.

This shouldn’t shock anyone. The consistent growth of the NFL and the viewership numbers Dallas put up this season all point to the Cowboys being the most valuable. Only the Cowboys, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees and New York Giants are worth over $7 billion.
Dallas is the only team in the top five that hasn’t made it to a conference championship in the 21st century. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can’t be too upset though; his $150 million investment in 1989 has turned into a nice little profit. That’s over 61 times more than what he paid.
