Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown Opens Up About Trade Rumors

A lot went wrong for the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the 2023 NFL season, which has led to some major changes occurring early in the offseason. Shortly after losing during Super Wild Card Weekend to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an overhaul of their coaching staff began.

Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown Opens Up About Trade Rumors

While head coach Nick Sirianni retained his position, the staff under him was changed drastically. He will have a new offensive and defensive coordinator for the third straight season, with Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio taking over those spots. The staff under them will surely change as well, as 2024 is going to be a make-or-break season for Sirianni.

With the coaching changes getting done, attention will soon shift to the Eagles’ roster. One of the players people are keeping a close eye on is star wide receiver, A.J. Brown. His lack of involvement at points near the end of the season was a big talking point, as he was seen expressing displeasure on several occasions on the sidelines.

With that, speculation has begun that Brown could be traded by the Eagles this offseason. The trade rumors are something that he recently addressed during an appearance on Up and Adams along with teammate, DeVonta Smith.

“I don’t know… maybe they know something I don’t. If something happens, I’ll be waiting by the phone, if not, I’ll be right here,” Brown said.

Trade rumors aren’t anything new to Brown. He has already been dealt once in his career, as the Tennessee Titans sent him to the Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for a first and third-round pick.

Brown has put up some big numbers in his two seasons in Philadelphia, earning a Pro Bowl nod in both seasons. But, it was clear there was some disconnect between him and Jalen Hurts. Will the coaching changes help get things back on order?

That will be something worth keeping an eye on as the offseason moves along. While Brown is saying all of the right things in front of cameras, his feelings could be different behind closed doors.

Losing him would be a big blow to the Eagles’ passing offense, but Smith looks capable of being a No. 1 receiver should the need arise. But, if Philadelphia does move on from Brown, they will need to bring in some help at the position as the depth chart is lacking behind their top two options currently.
