One Cleveland Brown Ranks Among The Best Over the Past Decade

In Week 7 in Indianapolis, Myles Garrett put on one of the most entertaining shows that we have seen from an individual in a football game in a long time. Statistically, he had nine tackles, two sacks, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one blocked field goal. To the naked eye, he dominated the football game and made three or four game-changing plays as the Browns edged out a win.

In the postgame locker room head coach Kevin Stefanski said, “We are running out of superlatives for this dude.”

One Cleveland Brown Ranks Among The Best Over the Past Decade

He was absolutely right. There aren’t many words left to describe Garrett.

The former No. 1 overall pick spent the rest of the season proving to be the best player on between the white lines week-to-week. At the end of the year, he was awarded for his efforts by being named the AP Defensive Player of the Year, an award that has eluded him to this point in his career.

Pro Football Focus has been referenced many times in our writing and is a really good source for the facts behind the stats. They don’t just look at stats to determine a player’s impact, they look at what actually happened play-after-play and grade players as a coach would.

On Friday, they released the list of the top edge rushers over the last 10 years and you guessed it, Myles Garrett’s name is all over the list. From 2021 until 2023, Garrett has been the highest-graded edge rusher in the entire NFL.

At a position that is one of the most physically taxing on the field, to have the consistent elite play that Garrett has displayed over the prime of his career has been remarkable.

Like Stefanski said, there aren’t many superlatives left for this guy. One that comes to mind is GOAT, though.
