The Philadelphia Eagles will need to address their glaring need at cornerback this offseason and one NFL insider believes they can do that during NFL free agency.
The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to let cornerback L’Jarius Sneed walk in free agency while they prioritize keeping Chris Jones on the roster.
So with Sneed set to be up for grabs come March, ESPN’s Matt Bowen predicts the Eagles will sign him.
“Upgrading the cornerback position is an offseason priority in Philadelphia,” Bowen wrote in ESPN’s 2024 NFL Predictions column. “With Sneed, the Eagles land one of the top veteran free agents, who has the coverage skills and ability to produce in Vic Fangio’s system.”

Sneed has been with Kansas City since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
His versatility has shown that he can be used both in the slot and outside.
Through 16 games in 2023 playing primarily on the outside, Sneed registered a combined 78 tackles, five tackles for loss, 14 passes defended, and two interceptions.
According to A to Z Sports, Sneed is projected to ink a four-year, $64 million deal with $35 million guaranteed this offseason.
That’s a hefty contract for the Eagles who currently have $19 million in cap space (per OverTheCap), but with a handful of offseason moves on the way, there’s a chance that Philly can free up more space to sign a necessity like Sneed.
