The Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their linebacker room even more in NFL free agency.
According to The Athletics’ Dianna Russini, the Eagles are signing former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Oren Burks to a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million.
Burks, 28, was originally selected out of Vanderbilt by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He spent four seasons with the Packers before signing with the 49ers.
In six seasons so far, Burks has appeared in 91 games with 15 starts and made 176 total tackles.
Burks has been used primarily on special teams throughout his career, though last season he played a career-high 326 snaps on defense and finished logging 46 tackles, one sack, an interception and three tackles for loss.
There’s a chance Burks gets the opportunity for a larger role in Philly as the Eagles look to revamp their linebackers group.
The Eagles also recently signed Pro Bowl linebacker Devin White and versatile linebacker Zack Baun in NFL free agency.
