Breakdown and grade for Titans picks in Chad Reuter’s 5-round mock

We are now less than three weeks away until we can finally put all the rumors and speculation to bed regarding what the Tennessee Titans will do in the 2024 NFL draft.

In the meantime, we have no shortage of mock drafts to look at and argue over, and now there are more multi-round mocks as the draft draws near.

One of the latest multi-round mock drafts comes from Chad Reuter of, who recently put together a five-rounder that has Tennessee pulling in a good haul.

Let’s take a look at every pick and some analysis for each, and then we’ll give a final grade for the group of players Reuter mocked to Tennessee.

Round 1, Pick 7: OT Joe Alt, Notre Dame

2024 NFL draft prospect room to improve: Notre Dame OT Joe Alt

What Reuter said: “A powerful run blocker and smooth pass protector, Alt’s prototypical size makes him a sure-fire starter at left tackle for the next decade.”

Analysis: This pick is a no-brainer. Alt shores up what has been the biggest issue for the Titans the past two seasons and further fortifies the offensive line in front of Will Levis. If Alt is there, it would take one hell of a trade offer for me not to take him.

Round 2, Pick 38: WR Ladd McConkey, Georgia

Senior Bowl, NFL draft: WR Ladd McConkey becomes name Browns fans should know - Dawgs By Nature

Analysis: McConkey is best suited as a slot receiver at the next level, but he’s also got the speed to be a deep threat, something Tennessee needs to add to its offense. I do have reservations about taking someone his size, though (186 pounds).

Round 3: No pick (traded to Cardinals in 2023)

Analysis: The Titans dealt their 2024 third-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals in the trade to move up for Will Levis.

Round 4, Pick 106: EDGE Chris Braswell, Alabama

Chris Braswell - Alabama Crimson Tide Linebacker - ESPN

Analysis: I would be surprised if Braswell lasts this long into the draft, so sign me up for this one. The Titans need another outside linebacker behind Arden Key and Harold Landry. Braswell checks that box and has the potential to be a three-down player at the next level.

Round 5, Pick 146: DL McKinnley Jackson, Texas A&M

McKinnley Jackson, Texas A&M, Defensive Line

Analysis: Yet another box checked for Tennessee, a team that is very thin upfront. Jackson projects to be a nose tackle in a 3-4 and has sneaky-good pass-rush skills that could lead to him being a three-down difference-maker with some development.

Grade for Reuter’s mock: A-

The McConkey pick stops this from being an “A+” mock, but I don’t hate the selection of the Georgia product by any means.

At the end of the day, the Titans address needs at EDGE, wide receiver, left tackle and defensive line, all positions that need additions going into the draft.

The lack of an inside linebacker isn’t great, but this year’s class is pretty thin at the position, anyway. Overall, if Tennessee walked away with this haul, I’d be very pleased.
