Landon Dickerson reveals first purchase after historic contract extension

The Philadelphia Eagles lost a legend on their offensive line when Jason Kelce retired. They weren’t prepared to lose one of the great young offensive linemen in Landon Dickerson any time soon after that, locking him up with a historic contract.

With that new contract, Dickerson made it clear that he was looking to be smart with his money, but that also didn’t mean that he wasn’t going to splurge on himself. In fact, he had his eyes on a new riding lawnmower for his year.

“I have a financial advisor for a reason,” Dickerson said. “I don’t know, I may go get a new lawn mower. Something I’ve been looking into… Yeah, zero turn.”

You can look at the results of the first major purchase that Landon Dickerson made after his contract extension, here:

At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves. Landon Dickerson has his yard looking incredible. The new lawnmower isn’t the only reason for that. However, it certainly did help him mow a pattern into his lawn.

Based on the picture of Dickerson’s yard, he clearly has enough land to justify a high-end lawnmower too. Assuming that this is a labor of love for him, it seems like a good purchase. Certainly, he’s already getting the value from having an excellent mower like the one he bought.

Dickerson’s contract is historic because it made him the highest-paid guard in the history of the NFL at $21 million annually. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport had the details.

“$84M base, $87M max value, source said,” Rapoport reported. “He gets $50M total guaranteed and a $20M signing bonus. The highest-paid guard in NFL history at $21M per year.”

Without Kelce in the middle of the Eagles offensive line, there are going to be questions about who Philadelphia turns to at the center position and the future of the offensive line unit as a whole. Clearly, with this contract, the Eagles are looking to turn to Dickerson for the future health of that unit.

Landon Dickerson played his college ball at Alabama, where he was an All-America, All-SEC selection, Rimington Trophy winner as the country’s best center, and a national champion. Philadelphia drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and moved him to guard. By 2022, he earned his first of two Pro Bowl appearances to this point in his career.

For his part, when news of the extension broke, Dickerson posted “Not Going ANYWHERE!”
