New Dolphins TE Jody Fortson gets really deep when talking about Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce

Since the whole Taylor Swift saga started, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has gotten more and more hate by the day. Sure, winning three Super Bowls and being part of a dynasty doesn’t help either, but the Swift thing has definitely struck a nerve in middle-aged men who think their opinion is all that matters when it comes to the football they are watching on TV. Kelce has taken some hate for basically bringing her into the NFL world. But that’s an entirely different story for another day.

Kelce is one of the more hated players in the league now, which is crazy when you think about how he was viewed just three or four years ago. That comes with winning. The opposing team’s fan bases don’t like him because he wins a lot, but he lets you know about it when he wins. I’m sure the fact that he is very good at what he does – the best ever in some people’s minds also contributes to that cause.

But, you cannot deny the things he has done are not great. One of the things at the top of that list that does not get talked about enough is how great of a teammate he is. One of his former teammates made sure to let everyone know.

“I’m going to just tell you, Travis Kelce is my favorite teammate of all time, on any level,” former Chiefs tight end Jody Fortson told the Miami Dolphins beat writers. “On any level. Pop Warner, high school, college, on any level – Travis Kelce is my favorite teammate of all time. Not only because he took his time trying to teach me the role of being a tight end, but just because of how much of a great person he is.

“He didn’t have to. Anyone can be like, ‘Nah, this kid is good.’ And he didn’t give that attention, not to me, but to anybody. He just showed unconditional love and knowledge for the game… Being in a room these last few years with Kelce has been an extraordinary blessing to my game.”

The way Fortson went on to talk about Kelce should change the way some people, especially fans, look at Kelce. He is a great guy, and sure, he can be a little wild and obnoxious, but when it comes to being a teammate, he is the best.
