Commanders DB Curl Says Goodbye, Signs with Rams

The Washington Commanders are officially moving on from Kamren Curl.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the former Commanders safety is signing a two-year, $13 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

Among the more pressing decisions for Washington’s higher-up’s centers around safety Kamren Curl, who’s started 53 of 60 since being selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Curl seemingly alluded to the status of his future in Washington earlier this month via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, posting the “peace out” emoji.

Just five hours later, Curl posted another emoji – this time, laughing.

A late-round success story, Curl has been highly productive as a professional, compiling 385 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and three interceptions over four years in Washington.

Curl was the Commanders’ second-leading tackler with 115 this past season, trailing only linebacker Cody Barton’s 121.

If the Commanders tagged Curl, he’d be making $17.1 million in 2024, even loftier than any potential extension.

Now, Curl gets a fresh start with the Rams as they look to rebuild the defense following Aaron Donald’s surprise retirement.
