The Steelers had a need at safety after releasing defensive back Keanu Neal.

Elliott signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins in 2023 after spending his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions.

He started 15 games for Miami and finished second on the team with 82 tackles. According to Next Gen Stats, Elliott, who turns 27 on April 21, allowed 22 catches for 276 yards and four touchdowns as the nearest defender last season; he also recorded seven pass deflections and an interception.

The 2018 sixth-round pick has 287 tackles in 57 career games, with 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 interceptions.

The news of Elliott’s agreement was first reported by Bleacher Report.
