An interesting story by Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, who says the Vikings and the Falcons appear to be the final two teams in contention for Kirk Cousins’ signature.

That was already fairly clear based on a myriad of reports in recent days, but he also says that if Cousins re-signs it will signal a “win now” mentality in Minnesota and he could see them getting aggressive in free agency, perhaps trying to re-sign edge rusher Danielle Hunter and trading for Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
“The Vikings have already called the Kansas City Chiefs on Sneed, and Minnesota could take the next steps if the quarterback situation turns in its favor,” Breer writes. “And, at least on paper, the idea of returning would be more enticing for Hunter in that circumstance, too.”
All that said, Breer expects the Falcons to make “a spirited run at Cousins.”
We could be hours from learning Cousins’ fate, and with it the fate of the Minnesota Vikings.
