Travis Kelce breaks down again when speaking about Jason Kelce’s retirement on New Heights

Jason Kelce’s retirement announcement on Monday has been coming since the Philadelphia Eagles center left the field in the team’s final game of the 2023 season.

But that didn’t make it any easier to hear. And that was completely true for Jason’s brother, Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was in attendance at the press conference, and the duo then addressed it on their New Heights podcast.

The love they both have for each other is very clear. Jason shed some tears throughout his entire speech, and the cameras also caught a glimpse of Travis crying as well.

And when Travis spoke about Jason on the podcast, he got choked up once again.

“To have you out of it, it feels empty and it definitely feels complete. It was a success,” Travis said. “It was a fun a** journey to watch and like I said yesterday, I appreciate you just showing me the way and bringing us all on the journey with you big guy.”

The Kelce brothers are truly the most iconic duo in the NFL, but now one member is stepping away. And that’s when Travis’ voice truly wavered.

“It was cool being a tag team of the national football league. That’s pretty cool sh**,” he said. “I couldn’t have been more proud listening to you (Monday) and it’s been a lot of emotions. A lot of sad emotions, a lot of excited emotions.

But while his playing career might be over, he now has the opportunity to go out and do more.

“You got the f****** world in your palm right now,” Travis added. “You got three little ones that you’re dying to watch grow up. It’s just a lot of future, exciting future things that we have to look forward to.”

And seeing the impact Jason has had on the entire league and especially the city of Philadelphia meant so much to Travis.

“You hit the intensity of the Philly fans. It was awesome. You hit it spot on and you’ve been spot on with it your entire career,” Travis said. “You’re the guy, tell you that Philly is an awesome city. You’re going to love it. You embodied that place before you even knew you embodied it and your toughness, you desire for excellence, you drive to be the best and not settle for anything other that that, the way you talked about the Philly fanbase was so spot on. And honestly being here in Philly for the past 13 years, I feel like I’ve become a part of this sports town.”
