The Denver Broncos are far from getting back to the pinnacle of playoff football. Not only are they struggling to find the right QB to lead them under center, but they also have to play against the Kansas City Chiefs twice every season.

While it wouldn’t be unreasonable to predict the Broncos to miss another Super Bowl appearance, it’s never great for the fans to hear that the odds are stacked against their team. The Vegas odds are telling them that they should look to this year as another rebuilding effort, though.

The Broncos, armed with the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, are expected to be among the worst teams in the NFL this coming season, with +10000 odds to win the Super Bowl. The team’s defense needs significant improvement, and without a solid plan at quarterback, betting on Denver at +10000 odds seems unwise.

It’s a painful reality to look at, but the Broncos’ Sean Payton era didn’t have the fairytale start that they hoped. The team ranked 24th in offensive passing yards, 8th in passing TDs, 18th in offensive rushing yards, 28th in rushing TDs, 22nd in passing yards allowed, 28th in passing touchdowns allowed, 30th in rushing yards allowed, and 17th in rushing TDs allowed.

While their passing numbers left a lot to be desired, it was also clear to everyone that there was discord between Payton and Russell Wilson. With the former Seattle Seahawks seemingly headed to another team in the offseason, the Denver Broncos will need to find the perfect replacement.

Baker Mayfield may become the answer , but they need to be prepared for a contingency if he decides to stay in Tampa Bay. After all, becoming QB1 for a division that has Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert in it doesn’t give any quarterbacks plenty of playoff prospects.
