Packers Defensive Star Reveals 1 Major Flaw They Need To Work on in 2024

When it comes to offense, there’s really a lot to love about the Green Bay Packers’ performance last season. On the being accountable is an entirely matter, and it’s one Rashan Gary hopes to be improved by the entire team.

Even though the Packers had the youngest team in the NFL, the Jordan Love-led squad managed to exceed everyone’s expectations. After a slow start, the team made its way toward the playoffs by dismantling the Dallas Cowboys during the wild-card round.

After that impressive performance, especially by Love’s debut in the playoffs, the Packers faced the San Francisco 49ers. Even with the team controlling most of the game, the final stretch saw crucial mistakes occur, leading Green Bay to lose composure and, ultimately, the match itself.

Now that the Super Bowl has ended with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the 49ers, every team is now focused on getting better during the offseason. For Gary, though, there’s one major area that the Packers need to get better at before next season starts.

As opposed to Green Bay’s offense, the team’s accountability could certainly use some work. Gary shares what needs to be done in an article written by Mike Spofford for the Packers’ official website:

“That’s really it,” Gary said regarding the goal of consistency. “We understand what we need to do. We understand what it is to play at a high level. We just have to come in and do it and hold ourselves accountable. “It starts with me. That’s what I’m going to do. For the team and everybody else to get better, it’s gotta start here. That’s what I’m going to do this offseason. I’m gonna watch my film, get better where I can get better at and be the leader for this team that I need to be.”

Now entering his sixth year, Gary is becoming a veteran voice the whole team can count on in the locker room. Expect his promise to get better, especially on the defensive end, to spread amongst his teammates. And with the recent hiring of Jeff Hafley as the new defensive coordinator, their chances of doing so look good for next season.
