Browns down one less offensive coordinator candidate that looked like he could have landed the job

The coaching cycle moves quickly in the NFL and even at the college level. We are currently seeing that play out with head coaches and assistants.

Right now, the Cleveland Browns have an offensive coordinator opening that is dwindling. Cleveland interviewed five candidates and one has recently become unavailable.

Browns down one less offensive coordinator candidate that looked like he could have landed the job

Former Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is set to join the Philadelphia Eagles. Moore was one of the interviews that the Browns had for their opening and he looked to be a serious candidate.

A bad reputation has been created for Moore because the Los Angeles Chargers were bad this season. That was not Moore’s fault and the 35-year-old play caller is well thought of around the NFL.

Cleveland interviewed five prospects quickly to become their next offensive coordinator. Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson is receiving second interviews, so he could be the next one to come off of the board.

Out of the candidates that the Browns have spoken with, Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson, Former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, and former Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson are still available.

Perhaps Cleveland is waiting for another domino to fall, maybe one of the four teams left to lose. One way or another, the Browns will soon land on their next coordinator. The longer it goes, it looks less and less likely that Kevin Stefanski is going to give up playcalling.
